We’ve decorated our journals and filled our kitchens with the scent of honey. For our final week, it’s time to put on our boots and head outside!
Christopher Robin knew that the best adventures don’t require a map—just a curious heart and a sturdy stick. Today, I’m sharing two ways to bring the magic of the Hundred Acre Wood to your local park or backyard.
1. The Mindful Nature Scavenger Hunt
Instead of just racing to find items, this hunt is about noticing. You can print this list out or simply write it in your “Thoughtful Spot” journal:
- Something Soft: Find a leaf or moss that feels as soft as Piglet’s ears.
- Something “Pooh-Colored”: Look for a flower or a stone the color of a honey pot.
- A Sound for Owl: Sit still for one minute. What is the wisest, quietest sound you can hear?
- A “Tigger” Branch: Find a branch that looks like it would be perfect for bouncing.
- A Gift for Eeyore: Find a beautiful stone or a bright leaf to bring home and put in your “Thoughtful Spot.”
2. How to Play a Proper Game of “Poohsticks”
If you can find a bridge over a stream, you have everything you need for the world’s most famous game.
- The Gear: Everyone picks a stick (make sure you know which one is yours!).
- The Goal: Stand on the upstream side of the bridge. On the count of three, everyone drops their stick into the water.
- The Anticipation: Race to the other side of the bridge and wait. The first stick to emerge from underneath wins!
- The Wisdom: As Pooh says, “Rivers know this: there is no hurry.” If your stick gets stuck, just enjoy the view.

A Final Farewell (For Now)
As we wrap up our month-long journey through the woods, I hope you’ve found a little more peace in your “Thoughtful Spot” and a little more joy in the “small smackerels” of life.
Don’t forget: You can still go back to Week 1 and print out your affirmation stickers! They are the perfect way to label your scavenger hunt finds or to decorate the cover of your new nature journal.
