There is something about mushrooms and gnomes in their whimsical forest home that reminds me of my childhood and playing in the woods with my family. Through my child’s eyes I could find enchantment with every flower, tree, and living thing. There was a fairy house hiding in the greenery somewhere, and the trees could tell each other age old stories and secretive language known only to themselves. I was sure I caught glimpses of gnomes scurrying about tending their tiny gardens out of the corner of my eye. Of course the mushrooms were something my grandparents collected and they were very knowledgeable about them and which were edible. Strangely enough many of the mushrooms that are depicted in fairy tale worlds and with gnomes are of poisonous kinds with bright red caps and little white dots adorning their bright tops.
