Birthday parties and Easter celebrations, or any gathering of family and friends where you want a special activity for children, this Pin the Tail on the Bunny game is fun for everyone. When we play these traditional style of games in my family, I love to see all of the generations get involved. Grandma and Grandpa remember playing this game, though usually with a donkey. Mom and Dad reminisce about their own fun birthday parties of childhood, and the little ones, well, they have a blast. What’s not to love about being blindfolded and spun around. There are giggles and silliness all around as the bunny’s tail ends up everywhere! This Pin the Tail on Peter Game is poster size. You can print it at home in the largest size you have, or get it printed up to make it really stand out. The images are taken from Beatrix Potter’s Tales of Peter Rabbit and are in the Public Domain so you can feel free to use them for your personal projects.
A suggestion for getting this game prepared to play at your party is to print it, either yourself or for a larger poster version, at a print shop. Next cut at the dotted line. The area above is your game poster is the part that you can hang on a wall. The portion beneath the dotted line consists of Peter’s tail. Using a scissor, cut each tail out and apply double sided tape, a tape loop, or even Velcro tape (if you would like to re-use the game) to the back of each tail. Now you are ready to have a great party game for the kids! If you have never played, the idea is for each child to have a turn. You can blind fold each player when it is their turn, have them spin around a few times, and then give them a tail and point them in the direction of the poster. They should try to pin the tail on Peter. When you have finished the game, you could have a special prize for the one who gets closest, or hand out your party favors.
I hope you enjoy this classic game and it adds a special touch of nostalgia to your celebration! Please consider liking this post if you enjoyed using it. I would love to hear from you.
